This is part of a series of post that documents 30 Lessons I have learnt in my 30 years on planet earth. This is Lesson 2. Read and be blessed! 😎 Drop a comment if you finf it valuable. 💛
Whenever I think about personal development, I remember a latin phrase I learnt while studying Law at the University of Benin.
“Nemo dat quad non habet” which literally means “You can’t give what you don’t have”. While this is a legal rule, it applies very well to other everyday situations.
If you desire to be successful in any endeavor, you must be willing to invest your resources including time, money, comfort, network etcetera to learn how to navigate the desired field.
When you learn by reading books, attending events, coaching programs, online courses, studying people’s lives, etc you set yourself up for success, unfortunately some people want to be successful but don’t want to learn. They are unwilling to go through the process.
They just expect to arrive at their destination successful, healthy, smart, loved, employed, wealthy, etc.
Yesterday during our Q1 Review & Strategy Session in my Inner Circle, Stephenie Ezinne Uche mentioned that she purchased an online course on thrifting to improve her knowledge and expertise in her Thrift Business – Thrift2Slay and I was impressed because this shows me someone who is ready to build a thriving business.
Here’s my charge to you today:
When you identify the man or woman you desire and deserve to become in whatever sector, find people, books, environments, programs and opportunities that will help you learn and thrive in that sector.
Interestingly, access to the internet has made learning a lot easier than it was years ago. With a smart phone and access to the internet anyone can become whatever they desire.
Maximize the gift of technology to level up your skills and knowledge.
Finally, I’ll drop this final quote by the 4th Wealthiest Person in the world, Warren Buffet which says:
“The best investment you can make is an investment in yourself. The more you learn, the more you earn”.
Have a great day.
