100 Women 2017 Grant for Women and Girls (Up to $30,000 available)

19th June 2017 Business and Entrepreneurship Opportunities 0

Opportunity Int.

Application deadline: July 30th, 2017.

Are you connected with a charity that is up to great things for women and girls?

Expressions of interest (EOIs) are NOW open for our 2017 grant round. Read the 2017 Grant Guidelines carefully before submitting an expression of interest via our Expression of Interest Form.

100 Women awards grants to organisations that advance the safety, health, education and economic freedom of women and girls. Our 2017 Grant Guidelines will provide you with information on our eligibility criteria and what we look for in considering projects to support.

You must be an Australian registered charity with Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. This is mandatory and overseas registered charities do not meet this requirement.

EOIs and supporting documents can be submitted via email: info@100women.com.au. These are due by 5pm AWST Friday 30 June 2017.

Check your Eligibility

Mandatory requirements by the Australian Taxation Office govern who we can make grants to. Grant applicants must be:

  • Charitable organisations within the meaning of the Charities Act 2013; and
  • Have Item 1 DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status (in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997).

Grants may also be made to exempt organisations that would be charitable but for their connection with government and which are Item 1 DGRs.

You can check whether your organisation is a Deductible Gift Recipient (Item 1) and a Charity by looking it up on the Australian Business Register.

Grant Timeframes

June: Expressions of interest open
Juy: Expressions of interest assessed
Early August: Selected organisations invited to submit Grant applications
End August: Grant applications due
September: Assessment of Grant applications
Late October: Information available to 100 Women members for voting on grants finalists
22 November: Announcement of successful grant recipients

We plan to support three grants of up to $30,000 to successful organisations. The level of grant support will ultimately be determined by how many members join the giving circle and the funds in the grant pool.

Once the application process commences, we will welcome short expressions of interest from eligible organisations. The grants subcommittee that is made up of our members will review and evaluate those expressions of interest. A select number of organisations will then be invited to submit full grant applications. This ensures that the workload involved for grant applicants is kept to a minimum.

The final grant applications will be assessed and evaluated. We will then deliver information on a short number of finalist projects to the 100 Women membership for review and voting.

At our grants celebration event planned for 22 November, the results of the voting will be announced and the successful applicants will be presented with their grant.

Complete the Expression of Interest Form to participate in the programme.
